Among other spring-time activities, we read a book about rainbows and reviewed color mixing!

Colin created a brick-red...

So pretty!

Jane made a bird's egg blue!

We reviewed our caterpillar story and made salt-dough caterpillars...

Our Thursday PJ party ended in cupcake-palooza...

Joy is becoming an excellent block builder!

Summer enjoyed figuring out how the water wheel worked.

Welcome Holt to Fridays in May!!

Everyone played harmoniously together this week - nice to have real spring weather!

What will we make today?
I have had this blue mixing bowl for about 10 years now and have mixed a lot of play dough, cookies, pancakes, bread and lots and lots of other things over the years.

The last couple of weeks we made homemade tortillas . . .

And we made "dough," as Dublin calls it.  But first we had to replenish our salt and flour supplies!

We made the best of another snowy day.

We read the book, below and then talked about what might make us have a "bad day."

Jane and Noe have a good giggle the other day as they beaded.

We looked at our globe to see where Noe was going to travel to - China!  We had gave her a graduation of her own on her last day, since we will not see her again until summer camp. We are anxiously awaiting her postcard!

The other day it rained a lot!  We splashed and splashed and splashed!

This week we read a well-loved story...

We played a game where we looked for leaves all over the room.

...and then we counted them up!

(we worked on a secret present for the holiday that is on Sunday...)

We also talked about Ladybugs and EVEN saw ONE outside one day.

We added spots to ladybugs in many ways...

Summer drew one herself!

We did some great eye-hand coordination with some safe hammering.

Welcome to the "Milestones Cafe"!

Oh, we've had so much fun establishing our own wait staff, cooks and menu!  Below, Summer takes Noe's order with a pen and pad.  "Order up!" Bridget gets the order to serve from Jane.

Summer is wearing her "cook hat" and Anders made sure everyone had enough water and catsup!

Thank you for letting us serve you!

We read the Max and Ruby story, Bunny Money and then made our own, so we had funds to pay at the cafe...

We made our own menus...

Colin really loved pouring the water for the patrons.

The M/W group turned the whole morning into, "cafe" and then, "now it's time to go to sleep".  Bridget takes such good care of the babies - she was rocking back and forth!

Jane generated a wonderful sounding recipe that we later called, "Cherry Surprise":  cherries with whip cream and crumbled graham crackers!

The T/Th group took a simpler route and made plain, butter and PB graham crackers for their "special of the day" at our cafe.

And thanks for bringing in the coins!  We counted and sorted them...

Hey, our beans are finally growing!  And we did experiments on "coloring" daisies.

After the snow subsided, we had all this ice to play with!  Cool. . .

And a bit of mud to play with, too...
